Michelle came to my office looking for a job, it’s hard right? You know, you’re coming for a job in a dental office and you have no teeth. And okay I looked at her not like my employee but as a person. So she needs help.
when I look at myself in the mirror now, I feel amazing. I feel more self-confident. My self-esteem is up, I don't have to hide behind my hands anymore and someone I haven't seen in months told me that I look really pretty, she doesn't know what I did but something looks different and she likes it.
Michele:
The first time I got pregnant, my teeth started decaying. The decay was eating the enamel off my teeth. I didn’t think much of it then. I just thought maybe something was going on, we started putting fillings on. After I had my son, it stopped decaying. So, when I got pregnant again, the process started all over again and it was much worse than the first time. So the dentist that I was going to since childhood just told me they needed it all to come out and get dentures. He didn’t really talk to me about implants, so that’s what I did. I thought at the time that was great but it wasn’t. It kind of went down spiral from there. I couldn’t really eat anything, everything kept breaking. I was spending more money going and getting them fixed and relined. And my face kind of started to sink in, where my sinuses where, I was having trouble breathing, I started looking older and my confidence was diminishing.
Dr. Sadesh Kumab:
When she was talking to me, she was hiding her smile and I spoke to her, I think she doesn’t have teeth these girls, I think so. I told her, “Okay. I would hire you and I see you have this problem. You may not want to address but we’re going to fix your teeth.”
Michele:
I was really nervous around him knowing that I had dentures and everything, but once I started working here and getting to know him, he’s
actually really caring, he wanted to do whatever he could to help me. He has a heart for dentistry and knowing that I was challenging case, he still wanted to take it on.
Dr. Sadesh Kumab:
She lost a quite bit of bone and everything so we did a lot of advanced bone grafting on her. We planted some implants on the bottom, the top deep and we have to place the implant inside almost in the nose, to get us better stability and we give her a teeth and you know, there’s a big night and day difference.
Michele:
To be 24 and in dentures was an experience that was not great for me. And when I look at myself in the mirror now, I feel amazing. I feel more self-confident. My self-esteem is up, I don’t have to hide behind my hands anymore and someone I haven’t seen in months told me that I look really pretty, she doesn’t know what I did but something looks different and she likes it. It was a godsend that I got the job here. I really love working here. I love what he’s done to my smile and to my face. It is amazing.
